Personally, I found this camping trip to be a unique opportunity. It was very much geared towards beginners or perhaps those with no camping experience whatsoever. This allowed a wide range of learners to participate in the trip. Over the course of the time spent at Goldstream there were a variety of activities facilitated, including a hike, forest games, etc.

The trip also provided learners with some valuable skills like meal prepping, teamwork, and communication. Overall, I would call the trip a success with many opportunities to develop new skills and have some experience in nature. I hope that other trips similar to this will be hosted in future, preferably something geared to more experienced campers. For example, a backpacking trip on the West Coast Trail. I believe this was still very beneficial even though I would consider myself fairly knowledgeable about most general outdoor activities.
This trip allowed me to pass on a lot of knowledge to my peers. One example of this is being able to assist my friends in creating a waterproof shelter, which we indeed slept in, with great comfort, I might add. With the constructing of this shelter I was able to practice a variety of knots and lashings as well as utilize natural materials. I definitely find it enjoyable to pass on some knowledge to my peers to further their own skills. I also had plenty of opportunities to learn from others. In summary, I think the trip was a very enjoyable experience, especially for those with little to no experience, with many chances to learn and grow as both a leader and a follower.
